The Muddy Moneys!
The first time I saw the Muddy Moneys I was like "Who are these children?"
Seriously - I think the guys in the band were about 11 or 12 years old. They were so little and cute.
They're almost legal now, and that's very exciting for everyone involved. They're way better than
their years on this Earth might denote. They're sweet kids who make great music.
Their record, The Sundown Sessions, is way solid but really only hints at where these guys
are going. In a world where indie rock bands are constantly experimenting with instrumentation
and putting things like accordians, banjos, gameboys, synths, and other random items -
it's nice to see a young band believe in the power of just guitars, drums and bass.
Bands like the Muddy Moneys are the future of this little music scene and
this is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor.
Most of you have met Eric Estrada (who plays bass in the Muddy Moneys) as he works our door
from time to time (and my time to time I mean - at least once a week). Now you can see what
the fuss is about. He's a great addition to our little family.
We have awesome lineups all month to celebrate the Muddy Moneys and put 2011 to bed.
I'm excited to spend the month with these guys.
